A Note from the Parish Nurse

Hello again! This past week, we had an OWLs Zoom meeting on good neighbor practices in COVID-19 and racism. Wonderful discussion and shared stories resulted.

Pastor Susan and I attended a webinar this week from the Southeastern Synod on Senior Care in the midst of COVID-19. I will be sending the recording out to the OWLS members in the Parish Nurse News this week. The webinar featured speakers from the CDC, a counselor who specializes in gerontology, and a parish/faith community nurse.

I continue to monitor and track COVID-19 across our county, state, country and world. We continue to see rising case numbers. However, Knox County is in a much better position in regard to resources needed to handle difficult cases.

Please continue to make safe and wise choices. Social distancing, hand washing, masks, surface disinfection, and taking care of your health needs. For those of you who are missing spending time with others, here is an idea. Make a list of 5 people you miss. Call one person each day for 5 days. Repeat as often as you would like.

May God’s grace be with each of you,

Mary Sophia
