A Note From the Parish Nurse

Grace and peace dear friends.

Holy God, we pray for our sister, Pastor Susan. Please surround her with your loving care, allow her to rest in your everlasting arms, and bring her precious memories of her brother John. We pray for Pastor Susan’s family as they navigate this most difficult time. We especially pray for her mother, Mary. Only you, God, know how to help. Fill all the family with your Holy Spirit, the comforter. We are grateful that John was a fellow Christian and that the next face he sees will be Jesus. In His name we pray, Amen.

Do you ever think, “enough is enough”? It seems that no matter what happens, something else is always around the corner. This year has been so very difficult for all of us. In these times, we tend to lash out in inappropriate times, just because. We tend to judge people because our minds are fraught with worry and turmoil.

How do we handle this? Start with a deep breath. And another. And another. Then breathe in peace and breathe out chaos. Breathe in hope, breathe out despair. Breathe in love, breathe out anger. Then pray. Talk with God. Call friends and communicate. Send a card to someone you love. This mindfulness will calm your soul and give you hope.

May God hold you and comfort you and bring you hope and peace.
