Kristin has served as Messiah’s Administrative Assistant since September, 1995. A dairy farmer and piano teacher/organist’s daughter, Kristin was raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. She is a cradle Lutheran who always wanted to work in the church—which isn’t surprising since her family lived across the street from her home congregation where her mother was the organist.
Prior to moving to Knoxville, Kristin served a Southern Baptist church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hampton, Virginia. Kristin has an additional eight years of experience with nonprofit organizations, such as the Commemorative Air Force (formerly known as the Confederate Air Force) and a children’s hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Kristin and her husband Karl spend much of their leisure time with their family—son Josh and wife Alissa, and daughter Kelsey and husband Jerry – who have blessed them with three delightfully happy GGs (grandgirls.) Kristin and her family are members of Grace Lutheran-Knoxville where Kristin rings with their handbell team and serves as a lector and usher. Kristin enjoys watching and “supporting” her backyard friends including birds, chipmunks, and squirrels and is “playing” at miniature gardening. She also enjoys doing needlework, reading, cooking and spending time with friends.
