Weekly Minute from Pastor Susan
We had a great town hall meeting on Sunday, June 21st via Zoom. I’m glad so many were able to participate. We reviewed the current draft of our re-opening worship plan and took questions and suggestions. If you were unable to attend, there is a recording of the meeting and you may find it here:
TOWN HALL MEETING RECORDED ON SUNDAY, JUNE 21, 2020 Several points were made that the team had not considered, and we are grateful for the suggestions for managing the things that we have not yet clarified in the plan. Please feel free to contact me or anyone on the Covid team with your ideas.
Unfortunately, we do not yet have a date for putting the plan into motion. We are working on getting prepared so that when it’s time can get it going quickly. We continue to follow the data but unfortunately they are going in the wrong direction right now. I shared on Sunday that I would rather be known as overly cautious than as having contributed to illness of one (or more) of our beloved ones. Although it seems that “everyone” is opening up, I have talked to many ministers who are taking their time and following the guidelines of the scientists and top health officials. And they call for a 14 day or more period of consistent decreases in new and active cases.
We would love to hear your thoughts, questions and suggestions. We will also need a lot of volunteers to get the sanctuary ready and to be available to implement the plan so if you can help, please let us know.
I am so proud of this congregation for rolling with all the changes with such a good attitude. This has been hard on us all, but with Holy Spirit guiding us, we can do anything!
Peace and good health,
