Welcome to Our New Members!
We are thrilled and excited to announce that the family of Messiah will welcome twelve new members during worship services on the first three Sundays in August.
We invite you to join our LIVE worship on Facebook on Sunday mornings at 10:00 to “meet” our newest members. Because of our current restrictions on numbers in attendance for worship, we will be receiving these families on three consecutive Sundays to stay within our “ten people in worship” guideline. Please join us each week to add your comments and welcomes to the following folks

Brian was born and raised in New Orleans, and Katie is from Knoxville. They met in Knoxville while Brain attended UT for graduate school. After living away for 10 years, they are glad to have settled back here. The Hemels have two children, Alex (8) and Anna (6), who attend Blue Grass Elementary School. Alex enjoys soccer and swimming, and Anna enjoys gymnastics and swimming. As a family they enjoy exploring the mountains, annual beach trips, and visiting family in New Orleans. They are very excited to join the Messiah family!

Michele Wilson lives in Knoxville. She has two grown children and a dog named “Lucky”. She works at the University of Tennessee in the English department. She’s following in the footsteps of her mother (Carol Miller) by getting involved with the Personnel Team and the Stewardship Team at Messiah Lutheran Church. Once we are able to gather safely again, Michele looks forward to the fellowship opportunities offered by Messiah and forming new friendships with members. She’s really excited about becoming a member of an inclusive church like Messiah Lutheran.
Kate Spears and Phillip Beck have been married since 2015. They met in 2004 while studying at the University of Tennessee. They do marketing consulting work and have three rescue dogs. They have been visiting Messiah since 2018 and chose Messiah as their spiritual home for its inclusivity and openness.
